Test pilots are employed in all Airbus Commercial Aircraft Test Centres performing ground and flight test activities to develop, deliver and improve our aircraft, products and services. This is among the best and most engaging flying jobs available with global opportunities.

Excellent candidates who do not hold a test pilot qualification may be considered for training through our Airbus Flight Test School (AFTS) in cooperation with the prestigious French Test Pilots School, L'École du Personnel Navigant d'Essais et de Réception (EPNER), to achieve an EASA Flight Test Rating (Category 2).

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

As a specialist test pilot and operational expert within the company, you can expect:

• To prepare and conduct ground and flight tests in support of aircraft production, delivery, product evolution and improvement, while acting as internal ‘first customer’ to ensure product safety and quality.
• To provide support to external services and campaigns.
• To proactively identify and report product safety, certification and in-service issues.
• To conduct specific additional duties within the Test Centre including, for example, planning, crew scheduling, safety management, and flight crew representation.

Desired skills and qualifications

• EASA ATPL (A)
• Class 1 Medical
• Significant command experience
• Significant experience on multi-crew transport category aircraft
• Airbus FBW experience (or significant flight test experience on FBW platforms)
• Strong interest in flight test and technical subjects
• English language (negotiation level)

The following would be an advantage:

• Flight test training - particularly long-course graduates of recognised flight test schools
• EASA Flight Test Rating (Category 1 or 2)
• Airline experience (including command)
• Current Airbus type rating
• Completion of the Airbus Technical Flight Familiarisation (TFF) Course
• Fight test or technical pilot experience - particularly of transport category aircraft.
• Knowledge of the Airbus flight test environment

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
