Textron Systems, a multi-industry leader in aerospace and defense, is seeking a qualified Fighter Pilot to join the Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC). As the world’s largest outsourced civilian tactical airborne training organization, ATAC provides adversary aggressor services for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force.

Position Scope

The successful candidate will operate aircraft including the IAI F-21 Kfir, MK-58 Hawker Hunter, F-1 Mirage, and AERO Vodochody L-39 Albatros. This role supports 4th and 5th Generation Fighter operational conversion and continuation training, as well as surface fleet pre-deployment training. Operations are conducted from permanent facilities and various deployed locations globally.

Responsibilities

  • Employ aircraft as a surrogate Adversary, Red Air, Aggressor, or Close Air Support pilot for military aircrew and training exercises.
  • Maintain FAA instrument currency, Second Class medical certification, and mission qualifications (including low-level, dynamic mission, and high-G combat maneuvering).
  • Execute flight mission planning, mass briefings, adversary coordination, and debriefings.
  • Adhere to all training rules and maneuvering restrictions while disseminating lessons learned.
  • Support departmental requirements including pilot scheduling, training, NATOPS/Standards & Evaluation, safety, or program management.

Experience Requirements

  • Previously DoD tactically trained fighter pilot.
  • Previously qualified 4-Ship/Division Flight Lead.
  • 700 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) of fixed-wing DoD-owned/operated fighter aircraft.
  • 100 hours PIC at night.
  • 100 hours PIC time within the past 12 months.
  • Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate and FAA Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land privileges.
  • Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
  • Navy Contract Qualifications: 1,000 hours PIC of a military tactical aircraft and 500 hours PIC of fixed-wing DoD-owned/operated fighter aircraft.

Desired Qualifications

  • Graduate of USAF WIC, USAF adversary qualification, USNFWS/NAWDC/TOPGUN, or TPS.
  • DoD military Instructor Pilot, Mission Commander, or Flight Examiner qualification.
  • NVG Instructor or CRM Instructor certification.
  • FAA CFI(I) Certificate.
  • Familiarization with DoD Commercial Air Services industry and FAA Authorized Experimental Aircraft (AEA) privileges.
  • DoD Safety School or Board President Course graduate.
  • Previous Squadron Command experience.
