Airline Captain

Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL), a rapidly expanding national carrier, is seeking highly skilled, dedicated, and safety-focused professionals to join its esteemed flight operations team. Minimum Entry Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate must possess a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Multi-Engine (ME) and Instrument Rating (IR), accumulating a minimum of 250 flying hours.
  • Proven experience in commanding multi-engine aircraft with a minimum take-off weight of 10 tons, demonstrating a strong performance record.
  • A valid Class One Medical Certificate is mandatory.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for effective crew coordination.
  • Possesses ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or above.

Key Responsibilities

The Airline Captain will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Assume full command of the aircraft, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and passenger comfort throughout all flight operations.
  • Provide exemplary leadership and maintain stringent standards of discipline, appearance, uniformity, and punctuality for co-pilots and cabin crew.
  • Optimize flight operations to achieve commercial objectives without compromising safety, actively seeking opportunities to enhance revenue load where appropriate.
  • Ensure thorough pre-flight preparation, including detailed briefing on Flight Plans, NOTAMs, Fleet Notices, Weather reports, and all other pertinent operational and service items.
  • Verify that aircraft loading adheres strictly to established procedures and ensure all required onboard documents and certificates are current and valid.
  • Accurately record all flight movements as per company requirements and promptly report any flight delays, incidents, or accidents.
  • Safely accept, sign for, supervise stowage, and manage the secure handover of diplomatic mail and precious cargo at designated destinations.
  • Ensure a safe and secure working environment in full compliance with relevant legislative and industry requirements.
  • Conduct audits, review, and report on service delivery, monitoring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) availed to Ground Handling Agents (GHAs).
  • Oversee administrative processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of both manual and computerized data processing.
  • Undertake any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Terms and Conditions

This position offers a ten (10) year contract for Tanzanian nationals, complemented by attractive remuneration and fringe benefits in accordance with the ATCL Salary Structure and Incentive Scheme.
