Pilot in Command

Overview

An established airline seeks a qualified and experienced Pilot in Command to join its flight operations team. The ideal candidate is a skilled aviator dedicated to upholding the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and professionalism. This role involves commanding aircraft, managing flight crew, and ensuring adherence to all operational procedures and regulations.

Minimum Entry Qualifications

Candidates for this position are required to meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 3500 total flying hours.
  • Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), Multi Engine, and Instrument Rating.
  • A minimum of 1000 hours as Pilot in Command on equipment with a minimum take-off weight of 20 tons, with demonstrated good performance.
  • ICAO English Proficiency level 4 or above.
  • Hold a valid Class One medical certificate.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Possession of a Dash 8-300 or Dash 8-400 aircraft type rating is required.

Key Responsibilities

The Pilot in Command will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Commanding the aircraft with the utmost regard for the safety and comfort of passengers at all times.
  • Coordinating and managing the flight crew, including the co-pilot and other crew members, to ensure the maintenance of high standards of discipline, appearance, uniformity, and promptness.
  • Ensuring commercial aspects of flights are achieved and, whenever safety is not impaired, endeavoring to obtain additional revenue load for the Company.
  • Ascertaining that they are fully briefed on Flight Plans, NOTAMs, Fleet Notices, Weather, and any pertinent documentation and service items required for their flight.
  • Conducting pre and post-flight checks in accordance with company and relevant aviation authority guidelines and procedures.
  • Verifying and ensuring that the loading of the aircraft has been performed in accordance with laid-down procedures and regulations.
  • Monitoring the aircraft’s performance, handling navigation, communication with air traffic control, and ensuring adherence to flight time limits in line with applicable guidelines and regulations.
  • Reporting all incidents and accidents in accordance with applicable company and relevant aviation authority regulations.
  • Verifying and ensuring that all documents/certificates required to be on board the aircraft are available and valid.
  • Reporting any flight delays as per company procedures and guidelines.
  • Accepting and signing for diplomatic mail, precious cargo, supervising their stowage aboard the aircraft, and arranging handover at destinations.
  • Performing any other official duties as may be assigned by their supervisor.

Terms and Conditions

This is a specified contract position offering attractive remuneration and fringe benefits commensurate with the airline's salary structure and incentive scheme.
