Experienced Airline Captain

Minimum Entry Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 3,500 flying hours, holding a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings.
  • A minimum of 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on aircraft with a minimum takeoff weight of 20 tons is required, coupled with a demonstrated record of excellent performance.
  • Applicants must hold a current type rating on one of the following aircraft: B767, B787, B737, A220, Q400, or Q300.
  • A valid Class One Medical Certificate is essential.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills are critical for this role.
  • Applicants must achieve ICAO English Proficiency Level 4 or above.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Airline Captain will be entrusted with crucial responsibilities, ensuring the highest standards of flight operations:

  • Commanding the aircraft, ensuring the utmost safety and comfort of all passengers throughout every flight.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of discipline, appearance, uniformity, and punctuality among their Co-pilots and Cabin Crew.
  • Actively working to achieve commercial objectives for each flight, optimizing revenue load for the Company whenever safety is not compromised.
  • Thoroughly briefing on Flight Plans, NOTAMs, Fleet Notices, Weather, and all pertinent documentation and service items relevant to their flight.
  • Verifying that aircraft loading procedures are strictly followed in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Promptly reporting all incidents and accidents.
  • Ensuring all required on-board documents and certificates are available and valid.
  • Reporting any flight delays promptly.
  • Accepting and signing for diplomatic mail and precious cargo, supervising its secure stowage, and overseeing its handover at destinations.
  • Maintaining a safe and secure working environment, fully compliant with relevant legislative and industry requirements.
  • Conducting audits, reviews, and reporting on service delivery to monitor compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with Ground Handling Agents (GHAs).
  • Overseeing administrative processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of both manual and computerized data processing.
  • Accurately recording all flight movements as per company requirements.
  • Performing any other official duties as assigned by their supervisor.

Terms and Conditions

For Tanzanian nationals, a ten (10) year contract is offered, accompanied by an attractive remuneration package and fringe benefits in line with the ATCL Salary Structure and Incentive Scheme.
