Role Summary
The Bilingual Cabin Crew Member, Translator, and Brand Ambassador fulfills a critical dual role: ensuring exceptional in-flight safety and service excellence while providing expert simultaneous translation between Chinese and English. This highly adaptable aviation professional actively supports both operational efficiency and the airline's brand growth, particularly across key international routes. This professional reports through the operational hierarchy, primarily to the Cabin Crew Leader and Aircraft Leader.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Bilingual Communication and Translation: Provides simultaneous translation services between Chinese and English for passengers, flight crew, and Cabin Crew Leaders during flights and for guests within the premium lounge facilities.
Operational Flight Duties (When Licensed): When possessing a valid cabin crew license and relevant aircraft type rating, the professional executes all standard duties of a Cabin Crew Member in strict adherence to operational manuals, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Brand Ambassadorship: Functions as a dedicated Translator and Brand Ambassador, following all instructions related to safety and security according to the operational hierarchy.
Service Excellence and Problem Resolution: Delivers a superior level of service by proactively anticipating passenger needs and addressing service-related challenges for passengers, crew members, and leaders efficiently and satisfactorily.
Ground Coordination and Support: Facilitates crucial communication between the flight crew and ground services in China to ensure a seamless operational flow and adherence to all ground procedures.
Safety Compliance (When Unlicensed): If the professional does not possess a valid cabin crew license or aircraft type rating, they strictly adhere to all safety and security procedures applicable to passengers.
Emergency and Incident Communication: Maintains timely and clear communication with passengers during unusual incidents, emergency situations, flight delays, turbulence, or adverse weather, strictly following Cabin Crew Leader instructions.
Commercial Support: Assists the cabin crew with translation and creative input necessary for optimizing in-flight sales activities, ensuring alignment with defined service standards and commercial policies laid out in the Service Manual.
Market Intelligence and Marketing: Actively participates in corporate marketing plan activities, monitors developments within the Chinese aviation market, and recommends strategic company participation in relevant industry events (e.g., fairs and workshops).
Required Qualifications
Education: Completion of Secondary Education (Level IV).
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of professional work experience in translation or related roles.
Aviation Certification: Completed training for cabin crew duties, including proficiency on the Airbus A330 aircraft type.
Language Proficiency: Demonstrable excellent, active use of both English and Chinese languages (written and verbal).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
