About the Role
The Arkansas Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot (Title 32) for a position within the 188th Wing at a location in Arkansas. This role involves piloting advanced military aircraft on assigned missions, adhering to strict safety protocols, and performing pre-flight and post-flight duties. Responsibilities also extend to administrative tasks within Air Operations program support areas, including training, planning, safety, and inspections.
Requirements

National Guard membership is required.

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to placement.

Must be a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard.

Military Grades: Officer, Minimum O-2/1LT, Maximum O-5/LTC.

Must possess or initiate a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.

A pre-placement physical may be required.

Must complete mandatory Full-Time Support (FTS) Training at the Professional Education Center (PEC) within six months of assignment, if applicable.

Must meet all military requirements without creating a grade inversion.

Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered under the Military Selective Service Act.

Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Must be able to obtain/maintain appropriate security clearance.

Ability to obtain Instructor Pilot upgrade within 36 months.
Qualifications
General Experience
-
Assisting the pilot in aircraft operations by determining, planning, and performing navigational aspects of flight.

Knowledge of various methods of air navigation.

Skill in using navigational instruments, equipment, and systems in conjunction with flight instruments to direct aircraft movement.

Some positions may require knowledge of fighter aircraft ordnance, pre-flight checks, malfunction recognition, and coordination with the pilot.

Knowledge of weapon ballistics and operation of related avionics systems for fighter aircraft.

Providing ground and flight instruction in air navigation.
Specialized Experience
-
At least 36 months of experience, education, or training involving obtaining information on mission type, weather, and intelligence data, along with special instructions.

Experience preparing navigation flight plans.

Experience providing knowledge of proper readings and operations of navigational systems.

Validated ability to test and inspect the operation of compasses, navigation systems, or radio and radar equipment.

Experience utilizing various navigational methods and aids to accomplish flying missions.

Experience computing the effect of various factors during flight to establish present course and project balance of course.

Ability to train, evaluate, and certify proficiency and competency of lower-graded personnel.

Validated completion of necessary hours required for applicants' current airframe.
