About the Role
The U.S. National Guard is seeking a highly skilled Airplane Pilot (Title 32) to join the AR ANG 188 WGH WG in Arkansas. This exceptional opportunity involves piloting advanced military aircraft on assigned missions, requiring precision instrument flight techniques and comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems. The successful candidate will play a critical role in mission accomplishment and flight operations management. National Guard membership is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Requirements

National Guard membership is required. Applicants not currently in the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

Compatible military grade and assignment are required prior to the effective date of placement.

Minimum Military Grade: O-2/1LT

Maximum Military Grade: O-5/LTC

Selectee must be a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard.

Must possess or initiate a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.

A pre-placement physical is required if not already current.

Must complete mandatory Full-Time Support (FTS) Training at the Professional Education Center (PEC) within six months of assignment (if applicable).

Must meet all military requirements of the position without creating a grade inversion.

Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation is required.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Must be able to obtain/maintain appropriate security clearance.

Ability to obtain Instructor Pilot upgrade within 36 months.
Qualifications

General Experience:
Positions involve assisting pilots in aircraft operations, determining, planning, and performing navigational aspects of flight. Requires knowledge of air navigation methods and skill in using navigational instruments, equipment, and systems. Some positions may require knowledge of fighter aircraft ordnance, preflight checks, malfunction recognition, and weapon system operation. Ground and flight instruction in air navigation may also be involved.

Specialized Experience:
Desired to have at least 36 months of experience, education, or training in obtaining mission, weather, and intelligence data; preparing navigation flight plans; and operating navigational systems. Demonstrated ability to test and inspect navigational systems and use various navigational methods for flight missions. Experience in computing flight factors, establishing course, and training/certifying personnel is beneficial.

Validated completion of the necessary hours required for applicants' current airframe (e.g., 1000 hours total navigation time, including 200 hours in the C-130).
About the Role (Continued)
Incumbents may rotate to perform administrative tasks in areas such as Training and Scheduling, Plans development for wartime and peacetime operations, Safety program administration and accident investigation, and Inspections, serving as technical advisors and managing inspection programs. The first-level supervisor is the Air Commander.
