The Arkansas Air National Guard seeks a qualified Airplane Pilot (Title 32) for a position with the 188th Wing, located in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This role involves piloting advanced military aircraft on assigned missions, ensuring flight safety, and contributing to various operational support functions.
About the Role

Pilots advanced, single or multi-engine military airplanes and high-performance military fighter aircraft.

Executes tactical and non-tactical missions utilizing advanced instrument flight techniques and air navigation aids.

Maintains thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and procedures under all conditions.

Performs pre-flight and post-flight activities, including flight planning, aircraft checks, log maintenance, and writing flight reports.

Serves as the Air Commander's representative when performing duties as Supervisor of Flying (SOF), overseeing unit mission accomplishment and safety.

May rotate to administrative tasks in Air Operations program support areas including Training and Scheduling, Plans, Safety, and Inspections.
Requirements

National Guard membership is required.

Must be a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard or eligible for immediate membership.

Compatible military grade and assignment are required.

Minimum Military Grade: O-2/1LT.

Maximum Military Grade: O-5/LTC.

Must possess or initiate a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.

A pre-placement physical is required if not already current.

Must complete mandatory Full-Time Support (FTS) Training within six months of assignment if applicable.

Must meet all military requirements of the position without creating a grade inversion.

Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered under the Military Selective Service Act.

Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Must be able to obtain/maintain appropriate security clearance.

Ability to obtain Instructor Pilot upgrade within 36 months.
Qualifications

General Experience:
Assisting pilot in aircraft operations by determining, planning, and performing navigational aspects of flight. Requires knowledge of air navigation methods and skill in using navigational instruments, equipment, and systems.

Specialized Experience:
At least 36 months of experience, education, or training in obtaining mission, weather, and intelligence data; preparing navigation flight plans; knowledge of proper operation of navigational systems; testing and inspecting navigation systems; utilizing various navigational methods and aids to accomplish flying missions; computing flight factors to establish course; training, evaluating, and certifying proficiency of lower-graded personnel.

Validated completion of necessary airframe hours, e.g., 1000 hours total navigation time including 200 hours in a specific airframe like the C-130.
