The Arkansas Air National Guard seeks an experienced Airplane Pilot (Title 32) for its 188th Wing in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This position involves piloting advanced, single or multi-engine military aircraft on assigned missions, maintaining a high level of proficiency, and contributing to flight operations management.
About the Role
This is a Title 32 Excepted Service position within the National Guard. The Airplane Pilot will operate advanced military aircraft, adhering to strict safety and operational procedures. Responsibilities include comprehensive flight preparation, in-flight management, post-flight activities, and potentially serving as the Supervisor of Flying (SOF) to ensure mission accomplishment and safety. Incumbents may also rotate through administrative tasks in areas such as training, planning, safety, and inspections.

National Guard membership is required. Applicants must be eligible for immediate membership in the Arkansas Air National Guard.

Compatible military grade and assignment are required prior to placement.

Military Grades: Officer (Minimum: O-2/1LT, Maximum: O-5/LTC)

Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered under the Military Selective Service Act.

Must possess or initiate a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.

A pre-placement physical is required if not already current.

Must be able to obtain/maintain an appropriate security clearance.

Ability to obtain Instructor Pilot upgrade within 36 months.
Qualifications

General Experience:
Experience in aircraft operations, including determining, planning, and performing navigational aspects of flights. Knowledge of air navigation methods and skill in using navigational instruments, equipment, and systems is required.

Specialized Experience:
At least 36 months of experience, education, or training in flight planning, operating navigational systems, and utilizing various navigational methods and aids. Demonstrated ability to compute flight factors, train, evaluate, and certify the proficiency of lower-graded personnel. Validated completion of necessary flight hours for the applicant's current airframe.
