An Airplane Pilot (Title 32) position is available with the AR ANG 188 WGH WG, National Guard, located in an unspecified location. This role involves piloting advanced military aircraft for assigned missions, maintaining mission qualifications, and executing all flight duties with the utmost safety. The position also includes administrative tasks related to training, planning, safety, and inspections within the Air Operations program.
About the Role

Pilots advanced, single or multi-engine military airplanes and high-performance military fighter aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions.

Utilizes advanced precision instrument flight techniques and air navigational aids.

Operates aircraft within established flight parameters in all weather conditions.

Maintains comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, procedures, and emergency protocols.

Ensures mission qualifications are current for the assigned aircraft.

Conducts pre-flight preparations including weather assessment, flight planning, aircraft checks, and passenger/crew briefings.

Executes post-flight activities such as maintaining logs, writing reports, and coordinating with maintenance.

Serves as the Air Commander's representative as Supervisor of Flying (SOF), responsible for mission safety and efficiency.

May rotate to administrative tasks in Air Operations support areas: Training and Scheduling, Plans, Safety, and Inspections.
Requirements

National Guard membership is required. Applicants not currently in the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

Must possess or initiate a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.

A pre-placement physical may be required.

Must complete mandatory Full-Time Support (FTS) Training within six months of assignment, if applicable.

Must meet all military requirements of the position without creating a grade inversion.

Compatible military grade and assignment are required.

Military Grades: Officer, Minimum O-2/1LT, Maximum O-5/LTC.

Compatible Military Assignments: Must be a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard.

Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered under the Military Selective Service Act.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Qualifications

General Experience:
Work in this series involves assisting pilots in aircraft operations by determining, planning, and performing navigational aspects of flight. Requires knowledge of air navigation methods and skill in using navigational instruments, equipment, and systems. Some positions may require knowledge of fighter aircraft ordnance, pre-flight checks, malfunction recognition, and weapon systems operation. Also includes positions responsible for ground and flight instruction in air navigation.

Specialized Experience:
At least 36 months of experience, education, or training in obtaining mission, weather, and intelligence data; preparing navigation flight plans; understanding navigational systems; testing and inspecting navigational equipment; utilizing navigational methods and aids; computing flight factors to establish course and balance; and training, evaluating, and certifying proficiency of personnel. Validated completion of necessary airframe hours (e.g., 1000 hours total navigation time including 200 hours in C-130).
