Airplane Pilot (Title 32)
The Michigan Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot (Title 32) for a position within the MI 127 Wing, Operations Group at the 191st OSS in Michigan. This role is responsible for piloting unit-equipped aircraft and performing administrative tasks supporting the Air Operations program.
About the Role
This Title 32 National Guard position requires military membership and involves piloting advanced single or multi-engine military aircraft. Responsibilities include executing tactical and non-tactical missions using advanced flight techniques in various weather conditions. The role also encompasses comprehensive pre-flight preparations, in-flight operations with a focus on safety, and post-flight activities such as maintaining logs and writing reports. The Airplane Pilot will also serve as the Air Commander's representative when performing Supervisor of Flying duties, ensuring safe and efficient mission accomplishment.

MICHIGAN AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.

Must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Michigan Air National Guard.

Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for Selective Service.

Must pass a federal employment suitability background investigation.

May be required to successfully complete a trial period.

Qualifications
Eligibility is based on the possession of Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications, military ratings in the main-frame military aircraft of employment, and required competencies. Applicants must provide dates of employment and hours worked per week.
General Experience:
Possession of FAA pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications and ratings.
Specialized Experience:

At least two years of experience in civilian or military aviation programs, Army National Guard Aviation Support facilities, or Air National Guard Wings/Operations Groups.

Experience piloting and instructing pilot skills in one or more of the following: Fixed-wing, rotary, or remotely piloted aircraft (RPA).

Experience in reading and applying mission tasks, intelligence reports, and weather information.

Experience in supervising and/or conducting mission planning, mission preparations, filing of flight plans, and conducting crew briefings.

Experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, equipment assessments, and mission manning.

Experience in operating aircraft controls and equipment.

Experience in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operations, surveillance, or reconnaissance.

Experience in conducting or supervising crew member training on simple to complex mission-specific tasks.

Experience in developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders.

Experience in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, aircraft operating procedures, and mission tactics.

Experience in various piloting administrative tasks performed in support of Air National Guard aviation programs.

Experience in aviation unit quality control management programs.

Experience in unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs.

Experience in one or more missions such as air-to-air, air-to-ground, mortar-to-arm escort, surveillance, reconnaissance, surface attack, killer-scout, target illumination, or laser targeting.

Experience in traditional "stick and rudder" controls.

Experience using aircraft instrumentation and aircraft-mounted video cameras.

Experience in visual flight rules (VFR) and instrument flight rules (IFR) flying.

Experience flying simulated combat and non-combat missions.

Experience planning, scheduling, and conducting training flights through FAA-controlled airspace.

Experience applying operational directives, training directives, instructions, and standard operating procedures.

Experience working independently to plan and perform work assignments.

Experience completing safe and efficient mission accomplishments through Operational Risk Management.

Experience performing aviation duties such as cancelling flying activities, diverting aircraft, dictating mission requirements, approving specific activities, coordinating for airport or airspace utilization, or directing emergency actions.

Experience with applicable Army aviation regulations, policies, requirements, and standards, and instructional techniques for training other pilots.

Experience conducting particular missions and flying specific main-frame aircraft in combat tactics, flying in mountainous terrain, performing tactical remote site evaluations, performing landings on remote sites, providing ground and flight training, and conducting night-vision operations or instructions.

Experience in standardization and evaluation programs, written ground examinations, emergency procedures, and aircrew performance standards.

Experience reviewing and complying with applicable service flight publications and directives.

Experience with weaponry and combat or non-combat tactics for applicable military aircraft.

Experience with wartime and peacetime contingency plans and supplements.
Education
