As an Airplane Pilot, the incumbent will pilot assigned aircraft utilizing advanced precision instrument flight techniques. Responsibilities include maintaining a comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems and procedures, ensuring mission qualifications, and executing flights with the utmost safety. Pre-flight duties encompass reviewing weather, planning routes, checking fuel, verifying maintenance, conducting pre-flight inspections, briefing passengers and crew, and obtaining clearances. Post-flight activities involve maintaining logs and forms, writing flight reports, coordinating with maintenance, and performing post-flight checks. The role also requires acting as the Air Commander's representative as the Supervisor of Flying, overseeing mission accomplishment. Furthermore, the pilot will design and coordinate training plans and scenarios, implement policies for required training, establish training goals, and analyze debriefings to ensure training event completion. The position includes planning, developing, and implementing the unit flying schedule, and coordinating operational requirements with relevant divisions and agencies.
