The Kentucky National Guard is seeking an experienced Airplane Pilot - Title 32 to join the KY 123 AW at an undisclosed location. This position involves piloting aircraft on assigned missions, ensuring flight safety, and contributing to aircrew training and unit operations.
About the Role
As an Airplane Pilot - Title 32, GS-2181-13, the incumbent will pilot assigned aircraft, employing advanced instrument flight techniques and adhering to stringent safety protocols in all weather conditions. Responsibilities include thorough mission preparation, including weather analysis, route planning, and preflight checks. Post-flight duties encompass log maintenance, report writing, and coordination with maintenance personnel. The role also entails serving as the Air Commander's representative as Supervisor of Flying (SOF), designing and implementing comprehensive training plans, and developing unit flying schedules in coordination with relevant agencies.

Must be a male applicant born after 12/31/1959, registered under the Military Selective Service Act.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Qualifications

Must possess an appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificate OR hold aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.

Must be C130J qualified.

A minimum of 24 months of specialized experience operating a fixed-wing military aircraft, including mission planning and preparation.

Experience reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information.

Experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings.

Experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments.

Experience conducting/supervising training of crew members in simple to complex mission-specific tasks.

Knowledge of flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures.
