About the Role

As an Airplane Pilot - Title 32, GS-2181-13, the incumbent will operate aircraft utilizing advanced precision instrument flight techniques and execute standard maneuvers in all weather conditions. Responsibilities include maintaining comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems and procedures, preparing for flights by reviewing weather, charts, and fuel requirements, and conducting preflight checks. Post-flight duties encompass maintaining aircraft logs, writing flight reports, and coordinating with maintenance personnel. The pilot will also serve as Supervisor of Flying (SOF), overseeing mission accomplishment and safety. Furthermore, the role includes designing and coordinating training plans, establishing training goals for instrument flight and general aircraft operation, and analyzing debriefings to ensure training event completion. The pilot will also develop and implement the unit flying schedule and coordinate operational requirements with relevant divisions and agencies.
