Job Summary

The Kentucky National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot - Title 32, GS-2181-13, to operate assigned aircraft on missions at the KY 123 AW. This role involves precision instrument flight techniques in all weather conditions, maintaining aircraft knowledge, and ensuring mission readiness.

About the Role

As an Airplane Pilot, responsibilities include piloting aircraft on assigned missions, executing standard flight procedures, and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems. Pre-flight duties encompass reviewing weather, planning routes, verifying maintenance, conducting briefings, and obtaining clearances. Post-flight activities include maintaining logs, writing reports, and coordinating with maintenance personnel. The pilot will also serve as the Supervisor of Flying (SOF), representing the Air Commander and ensuring safe and efficient mission accomplishment. This position involves designing and coordinating training plans, implementing policies, establishing training goals, and analyzing debriefings to ensure training event completion. The pilot will also develop and implement the unit flying schedule and coordinate operational requirements with relevant agencies.
