The Kentucky National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot - Title 32 to operate aircraft on assigned missions from its 123 AW unit. This position requires extensive flight experience and the ability to perform advanced instrument flight techniques in various weather conditions.
About the Role
As an Airplane Pilot - Title 32, GS-2181-13, the incumbent will pilot aircraft on assigned missions, employing advanced precision instrument flight techniques. Responsibilities include flying within designated parameters, executing standard maneuvers in all weather conditions, and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems and procedures. The role also involves preparing for flights, including reviewing weather, planning routes, and conducting preflight checks. Post-flight duties encompass maintaining logs, writing reports, and coordinating with maintenance personnel. Additionally, the pilot may serve as the Air Commander's representative while performing Supervisor of Flying duties, overseeing safe and efficient mission accomplishment. This position involves designing and coordinating training plans, establishing training goals, and analyzing debriefings to ensure training objectives are met. The pilot will also develop and implement the unit flying schedule and coordinate operational requirements with relevant agencies.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

Must possess an appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificate or have aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.

Must be C130J qualified.
Specialized Experience:

At least 24 months operating a fixed-wing military aircraft.

Experience in mission planning and preparation.

Experience reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information.

Experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings.

Experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments.

Experience conducting/supervising training of crew members in simple to complex mission-specific tasks.

Knowledge of flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures.
