The Kentucky National Guard is seeking an experienced Airplane Pilot - Title 32 for the KY 123 AW. This position involves piloting assigned aircraft on missions, ensuring safe and efficient flight operations in various conditions, and maintaining aircraft system knowledge. The role also encompasses comprehensive flight preparation, post-flight activities, and contributing to the unit's training plans and flying schedule.
About the Role
As an Airplane Pilot - Title 32 (GS-2181-13), the incumbent will be responsible for:

Piloting aircraft using advanced precision instrument flight techniques and adhering to all flight parameters.

Maintaining a thorough understanding of aircraft systems and procedures, as well as mission qualifications.

Conducting detailed flight preparations, including weather analysis, route planning, fuel calculations, and preflight checks.

Performing post-flight duties such as maintaining logs, writing reports, and coordinating with maintenance.

Serving as the Air Commander's representative when performing Supervisor of Flying (SOF) duties.

Designing and coordinating comprehensive aircrew training plans and scenarios.

Developing and implementing the unit flying schedule.

Coordinating operational requirements with relevant divisions and agencies.
Requirements

Must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.

Must be assigned to a compatible military position.

Must be willing to wear the military uniform.

Position may require a pre-employment physical.

May be subject to furlough actions.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.

Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus.

Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.

Must not have been convicted of a qualifying domestic violence crime under the Gun Control Act.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirement:

Possess an appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificate OR aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.

Must be C130J qualified.
Specialized Experience:
-
A minimum of 24 months of experience operating a fixed-wing military aircraft.

Experience in mission planning and preparation.

Experience reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information.

Experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings.

Experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments.

Experience conducting/supervising training of crew members in simple to complex mission-specific tasks.

Required knowledge in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures.
