About the Role
The Airplane Pilot - Title 32 will pilot aircraft on assigned missions utilizing advanced precision instrument flight techniques. Responsibilities include flying within established parameters for normal procedures and standard maneuvers under all weather conditions, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems and procedures, and ensuring mission qualifications are current for the assigned airplane. Pre-flight duties encompass reviewing weather, planning routes, verifying fuel, estimating flight times, confirming maintenance status, conducting pre-flight checks, briefing passengers and crew, and obtaining necessary clearances. Post-flight activities include maintaining aircraft logs and forms, writing flight reports, coordinating with maintenance, and performing post-flight checks. The role also involves serving as the Air Commander's representative when acting as Supervisor of Flying (SOF), responsible for safe and efficient mission execution. Furthermore, the position requires designing and coordinating comprehensive training plans and scenarios for aircrew technical training, implementing policies for required training, establishing training goals for instrument flight and general aircraft operation, and analyzing post-mission debriefings to ensure training event completion. The pilot will also plan, develop, and implement the unit flying schedule and coordinate operational requirements with the Aircraft Maintenance Division, FAA, and other agencies. Additional duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Qualifications

Must possess an appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificate OR have aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.

Must be C130J qualified.

Must have at least 24 months of experience operating a fixed-wing military aircraft.

Must have experience in mission planning and mission preparation.

Must have experience reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information.

Must have experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings.

Must have experience in aircraft pre-flight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments.

Must have experience conducting/supervising training of crew members in simple to complex mission-specific tasks.

Knowledge is required in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures.
