Role Summary
The 153d Operations Support Squadron is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot to join the Wyoming Air National Guard. The primary purpose of this role is to pilot the C-130 aircraft while supporting the administrative requirements of the Air Operations program. The incumbent will execute tactical and non-tactical missions, ensuring safe and efficient operations in accordance with military and federal standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Piloting advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions utilizing precision instrument flight techniques.

Conducting comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route navigation, fuel requirements, and aircraft readiness/preflight inspections.

Operating the C-130 aircraft with a focus on safety, adhering to flight manual parameters, and performing corrective actions during emergency procedures.

Managing post-flight requirements, including logbook maintenance, flight reporting, and coordination with maintenance personnel.

Serving as the Air Commander’s representative in the capacity of Supervisor of Flying (SOF) to ensure mission accomplishment and unit safety.
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is required.

Experience:
Must possess at least 24 months of specialized experience in military or civilian aviation programs and at least 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft.

Certifications:
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates OR appropriate military certifications/ratings in the C-130H.

Military Requirement:
Must possess AFSC 11M, C-130 Mobility Pilot. Selected candidates must be in or willing to obtain a compatible military grade (O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col) and join the Wyoming Air National Guard prior to appointment.

Training:
Graduation from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Licensure:
Valid driver’s license.
Conditions of Employment

Must maintain medical standards equivalent to USAF military pilots.

Must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance for access to classified information.

Must be available for travel by air as required by mission parameters.

Position may require work outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Selected candidates may be subject to a two-year trial period.

Federal suitability is contingent upon a successful background investigation.

Acceptance of this position terminates certain military incentives, including SRIP and TRICARE Reserve Select.

This position is open to current active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and members of any state’s Air National Guard who meet the necessary qualifications and are willing to transfer to the Wyoming Air National Guard.
