Position Summary
The Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot for the 153d Operations Support Squadron. This role is responsible for piloting the C-130 aircraft and providing essential administrative support to the Air Operations program. The incumbent serves as the Air Commander's representative while performing duties as the Supervisor of Flying (SOF), ensuring safe and efficient mission accomplishment.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions utilizing precision instrument flight techniques.

Conduct comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route mapping, fuel requirement calculations, and flight plan filing.

Perform pre-flight inspections, including weight and balance verification, maintenance status checks, and crew/passenger briefings.

Execute flight operations according to aircraft manuals and safety parameters, including coordination with ground units and emergency response.

Complete post-flight duties such as log maintenance, reporting, and coordination with maintenance personnel.
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university required.

Training:
Must have graduated from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Certifications:
Must possess Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications and ratings in the C-130H.

Military Requirements:
Must possess AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot) and be eligible for a compatible military grade (O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col).

Specialized Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of experience in aviation programs (civilian or military) and 24 months of experience piloting or instructing C-130 aircraft, including mission planning, safety program management, and operational risk management.

Medical/Security:
Must maintain USAF pilot medical standards and obtain/maintain the required security clearance.

Licensure:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician position; military affiliation with the Wyoming Air National Guard is required prior to appointment.

Open to current active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and Air National Guard members.

Federal employment suitability is subject to a background investigation.

Requires the ability to travel via military or commercial air and availability for non-standard hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays).

Successful completion of a two-year trial period may be required.

Acceptance of this position terminates certain military incentives, including SRIP and TRICARE Reserve Select.

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:30 pm.
