Position Summary
The 153d Operations Support Squadron is seeking a dedicated Airplane Pilot to operate C-130 aircraft in tactical and non-tactical environments. This role involves mission execution, advanced flight planning, and administrative support for the Air Operations program. The selected candidate will serve as a representative of the Air Commander, including duties as Supervisor of Flying (SOF), ensuring safe and efficient mission accomplishment.
Key Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft using precision instrument flight techniques and air navigational aids.

Conduct comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route determination, fuel requirements, and regulatory flight plan filing.

Perform detailed pre-flight checks, ensuring proper aircraft loading, weight distribution, and crew briefings.

Execute flights in accordance with technical manuals, maintaining communication with ground control and initiating corrective or emergency actions as necessary.

Complete post-flight activities, including log maintenance, reporting, and coordination with maintenance personnel.

Ensure strict adherence to safety directives, risk management protocols, and operational regulations.
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
Must possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.

Training:
Must be a graduate of USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of specialized experience in military or civilian aviation, specifically in C-130 piloting or instruction. Experience must include mission planning, safety program management, and flight operations oversight.

Certifications:
Possession of Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military aviation certifications and ratings in the C-130H.

Military Compatibility:
Must possess or be eligible for AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot). Candidates must be current members of the Air Force, Air Force Reserves, or Air National Guard, or be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard prior to appointment.

Medical:
Must maintain medical standards required for USAF military pilots.

Licensure:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Conditions of Employment

Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for access to classified information.

Must participate in a two-year trial period if required.

May be required to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Travel via military or commercial air may be required.

Employment is contingent upon a successful federal background investigation.

Acceptance of this position results in the termination of certain military incentives, including SRIP and TRICARE Reserve Select.
