Job Title: Airplane Pilot (C-130)
Position Summary:
The Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking a dedicated professional for a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position as an Airplane Pilot (Position Description Number PDD0253P02). Based within the 153d Operations Support Squadron, the primary mission of this role is to pilot C-130 aircraft while supporting broader Air Operations programs through administrative and operational leadership.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions, utilizing precision instrument flight techniques and air navigational aids.

Conduct comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route determination, fuel requirement calculations, and flight plan filing.

Perform critical preflight responsibilities, including weight and balance verification, aircraft serviceability checks, and crew/passenger safety briefings.

Operate aircraft with an emphasis on safety, adhering to flight manual parameters, coordinating with ground control, and executing corrective actions during emergencies.

Manage post-flight documentation, including log maintenance, report generation, and maintenance coordination.

Serve as the Air Commander’s representative when performing Supervisor of Flying (SOF) duties, ensuring efficient mission accomplishment.
Required Qualifications:

Education:
A mandatory undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university. A graduate degree from an accredited institution or professional military education school is preferred.

Flight Training:
Graduation from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Certifications:
Possession of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates OR appropriate military certifications/ratings in the C-130H.

Specialized Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of working experience in aviation programs (civilian or military) and at least 24 months of experience piloting or instructing C-130 aircraft. This must include documented experience in mission planning, safety program management, and flight operations coordination.

Military Requirements:
Must be a member of (or willing to join) the Wyoming Air National Guard. Must possess AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot). Military grade requirements: O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col.

Licensure:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Conditions of Employment:

Applicants must be current active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserve, or Air National Guard members.

Must successfully obtain and maintain the required security clearance for access to classified information.

Must maintain medical standards equivalent to USAF military pilots.

Work schedule is Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 16:30; however, the position may require work outside of normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Travel via military or commercial air may be required.

A two-year trial period may be required upon appointment.

Acceptance of this position terminates certain military incentives, including SRIP and TRICARE Reserve Select.

Relocation expenses are not authorized; selected candidates must relocate at their own expense.
