Job Summary
The Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot (Position Description Number PDD0253P02) for the 153d Operations Support Squadron. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. The primary purpose of this role is to pilot the C-130 aircraft and provide administrative support for the Air Operations program.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions using precision instrument flight techniques.

Perform comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route navigation, fuel requirements, and pre-flight inspections.

Ensure crew and passenger safety through detailed briefings and emergency procedure protocols.

Execute flight operations while adhering to safety parameters, communicating with ground control, and monitoring aircraft performance.

Complete post-flight activities, including log maintenance, reporting, and coordination with maintenance personnel.

Serve as the Air Commander’s representative when performing duties as Supervisor of Flying (SOF).
Qualifications and Requirements
Mandatory Requirements

Must be a current member of the Air Force, Air Force Reserve, or an Air National Guard unit, or be willing to join the Wyoming Air National Guard prior to appointment.

Possess a valid driver’s license.

Must be a graduate of USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Must possess AFSC 11M, C-130 Mobility Pilot qualification.

Maintain medical standards equivalent to USAF military pilots.

Must hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.

Possess Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications and ratings in the C-130H.

Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
Specialized Experience (GS-13)
Applicants must demonstrate at least 24 months of experience in military or civilian aviation programs, including 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft. This experience must include proficiency in unit operations, safety programs, mission planning, and federal airspace management.

Military affiliation is required; position appointment is contingent upon becoming a military member of the Wyoming Air National Guard.

Selected candidates must serve in a compatible military grade (O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col).

Work may require travel and performance of duties outside of standard business hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays).

Federal employment suitability is subject to a background investigation.

Acceptance of this position may terminate specific military incentives, including SRIP and TRICARE Reserve Select.
