The Air National Guard (ANG) 144th Fighter Wing is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot (GS-2181-13) to join the Operations Group. This is a T32 Excepted Service position involving both piloting unit-equipped aircraft and performing administrative tasks in support of the Air Operations program. This is an open-until-filled announcement; applications are reviewed every 30 days.
The primary function of this role is to pilot unit-equipped (UE) aircraft while contributing to the operational efficiency of the Air Operations program. This position is available as permanent, indefinite, or temporary. Indefinite and temporary selections may be eligible for non-competitive conversion or extension based on funding and agency policy.
General Experience: Candidates must possess a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification from an accredited civilian program or an aviation certification from an accredited military aviation school, plus one year of on-the-job experience at the grade or comparable military rank immediately below the next higher level.
Specialized Experience: Candidates must have at least 36 months of experience in the following areas:
Competencies: Candidates will be evaluated on Education and Training Program Administration, Operation and Control, Planning and Evaluating, and Safety and Security.
Documentation of FAA certification or military aviation school graduation is required at the time of application. Unofficial transcripts or certification documents must be submitted to avoid automatic disqualification. Foreign education must be evaluated by a recognized organization to determine U.S. equivalency.
