Role Summary
The Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot for the 153d Operations Support Squadron. This Title 32 Dual Status Technician position is responsible for piloting the C-130 aircraft and providing essential administrative support to the Air Operations program. The successful candidate will ensure the safe and efficient execution of tactical and non-tactical missions while adhering to all federal and military regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions using precision instrument flight techniques.

Execute comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route navigation, fuel requirements, weight and balance distribution, and preflight safety inspections.

Maintain communication with ground units and controlling agencies; monitor aircraft performance and flight progress; execute emergency procedures as required.

Complete all post-flight requirements, including logbook maintenance, flight reporting, and debriefing with maintenance personnel.

Serve as the Air Commander’s representative in the capacity of Supervisor of Flying (SOF), ensuring unit mission accomplishment and operational safety.
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is required.

Training:
Graduation from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Certification:
Must possess Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates OR appropriate military certifications/ratings in the C-130H.

Military Grade:
Must hold a military grade between O-2/1Lt and O-5/Lt Col.

Military Assignment:
Must possess AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot).

Specialized Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of experience in military or civilian aviation programs, and at least 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft, specifically involving mission planning, safety program management, and operational risk management.

Licensing:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Military Affiliation:
This is a Title 32 Excepted Service position; military membership in the Wyoming Air National Guard is required prior to appointment.

Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for access to classified information.

Medical Standards:
Must maintain the same medical standards as required for USAF military pilots.

Trial Period:
May be required to successfully complete a two-year trial period.

Availability:
Must be available for work outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Travel via military or commercial air may be necessary.

Relocation:
If selected, candidates are responsible for all relocation expenses.
