Job Summary
The Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot (Position Description PDD0253P02) for the 153d Operations Support Squadron. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. The primary mission of this role is to pilot C-130 aircraft and provide essential administrative support to the Air Operations program.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions, utilizing precision instrument flight techniques.

Perform comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route navigation, fuel requirements, and flight plan submission.

Conduct pre-flight inspections, verify aircraft weight and loading, and brief crew/passengers on emergency procedures.

Ensure safe aircraft operation by adhering to flight manuals, coordinating with ground control, and executing emergency protocols when necessary.

Complete post-flight duties, including maintaining flight logs, reporting, and coordinating maintenance service.

Serve as the Air Commander’s representative when performing duties as Supervisor of Flying (SOF).
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is required.

Flight Training:
Must be a graduate of USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Certifications:
Possession of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates OR appropriate military certifications/ratings in the C-130H.

Military Requirements:
Must possess AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot) and meet the military grade requirements of O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col.

Medical:
Must maintain the same medical standards as USAF military pilots.

Specialized Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of experience in aviation programs (civilian or military) and 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft. This experience must demonstrate proficiency in flight planning, unit safety programs, and operational risk management.

Applicants must be current members of the Air Force, Air Force Reserves, or an Air National Guard unit and must join the Wyoming Air National Guard prior to appointment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Work may require travel and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Employment is contingent upon a successful background investigation and may require a two-year trial period.

Acceptance of this position will result in the termination of specific military incentives, including SRIP and TRICARE Reserve Select.
