Position Summary
The 153d Operations Support Squadron is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot to operate C-130 aircraft in support of tactical and non-tactical missions. In addition to primary flight duties, the incumbent will perform essential administrative functions to support the Air Operations program and serve as the Air Commander’s representative when performing Supervisor of Flying (SOF) duties.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft using precision instrument flight techniques and air navigational aids.

Conduct comprehensive pre-flight planning, including weather analysis, route mapping, fuel requirement calculations, flight plan filing, and crew briefings.

Verify aircraft readiness, including weight and balance distribution, maintenance status, and preflight inspections.

Ensure safe operation of the aircraft in accordance with flight manuals, coordinating with ground units and taking corrective actions during emergencies.

Manage post-flight activities, including maintaining logs, submitting reports, and coordinating with maintenance personnel.

Oversee mission accomplishment as a Supervisor of Flying (SOF).
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.

Training:
Graduation from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Military Requirements:
Must possess AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot). Military grade must be O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col.

Certifications:
Possession of Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications/ratings in the C-130H.

Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of specialized experience in civilian or military aviation programs, including 24 months of piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft. Must demonstrate experience in flight planning, mission execution, safety program compliance, and operational risk management.

Medical/Physical:
Must maintain the same medical standards as USAF military pilots and possess a valid driver’s license.
Conditions of Employment

Must maintain military membership in the Wyoming Air National Guard.

Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for access to classified information.

Employment is subject to a background investigation.

May require travel via military or commercial air.

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

May be subject to a two-year trial period.

Position requires primary physical presence; telework is considered on a case-by-case basis.
