The Air National Guard (ANG) Aviation Wing, Operations Group, CA 144 FW, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Airplane Pilot (GS-2181-13). This is an excepted service position involving the piloting of unit-equipped (UE) aircraft and the execution of administrative tasks to support the Air Operations program.

This role may be filled as a permanent, indefinite, or temporary appointment. Indefinite positions may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to permanent status based on funding and position availability. Temporary positions may be extended for up to four years subject to regulatory guidelines.
General Experience: Candidates must possess a Federal Aviation Administration certification from an accredited civilian aviation program or an aviation certification from an accredited military aviation school. Candidates must also possess at least one year of on-the-job experience in the grade or comparable military rank immediately below the next higher level.
Specialized Experience: Candidates must demonstrate 36 months of specialized competency in operating specific main-frame military aircraft, mission planning, and mission preparation. Evaluations will be based on competencies in Operation and Control, Planning and Evaluating, Education and Training Program Administration, and Safety and Security.
Proof of FAA or military aviation certification and, if applicable, academic transcripts are required at the time of application. Only institutions accredited by the U.S. Department of Education are recognized. Foreign education must be evaluated by a specialized organization to demonstrate equivalency to a U.S. accredited program.
