Role Summary
The 153d Operations Support Squadron is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot to operate C-130 aircraft. This role involves executing tactical and non-tactical missions while performing essential administrative duties in support of the Air Operations program. The incumbent serves as the Air Commander's representative in the capacity of Supervisor of Flying (SOF), ensuring the safe and efficient execution of unit missions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft using precision instrument flight techniques and air navigational aids.

Conduct comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route mapping, fuel requirement calculations, and flight plan filing.

Perform pre-flight inspections, including weight and balance verification, maintenance status checks, and crew/passenger briefings.

Operate aircraft in adherence to safety protocols and flight manual parameters; provide oversight of flight progress and execute emergency procedures when necessary.

Complete post-flight activities, including log maintenance, reporting, and coordination with maintenance personnel regarding service conditions.
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.

Training:
Graduation from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Certification:
Must possess Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications, with active military ratings in the C-130H.

Military Assignment:
Must possess AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot).

Specialized Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of experience in aviation programs (civilian or military) and at least 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft. This experience must demonstrate proficiency in operational planning, unit safety programs, mission preparation, and the management of aviation duties within controlled airspace.

License:
Must hold a valid driver's license.

Military Affiliation:
Position requires current military membership in the Wyoming Air National Guard. Candidates must be active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserve, or National Guard personnel willing to join the Wyoming Air National Guard.

Military Grade:
Must maintain a compatible military grade of O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col.

Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for access to classified information.

Medical Standards:
Must maintain the same medical standards as USAF military pilots.

Trial Period:
Successful completion of a two-year trial period may be required.

Availability:
Must be available to work outside normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be available for travel via military or commercial air.
