Airplane Pilot (C-130) – Wyoming Air National Guard
Position Summary:
The Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot for the 153d Operations Support Squadron. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. The primary objective of this role is to pilot the C-130 aircraft and provide administrative support for the Air Operations program. Military affiliation with the Wyoming Air National Guard is a mandatory requirement for this role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions, utilizing precision instrument flight techniques.

Perform comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, navigation, fuel requirement calculations, and flight plan filing.

Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, ensuring proper aircraft loading, weight distribution, and crew briefings.

Operate aircraft safely by adhering to all flight manuals, coordinating with ground units, and executing emergency procedures as necessary.

Execute post-flight duties, including maintenance coordination, logbook documentation, and flight reporting.

Serve as the Air Commander's representative in the capacity of Supervisor of Flying (SOF), ensuring mission efficiency and safety.
Mandatory Qualifications:

Education:
Must hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.

Flight Training:
Must be a graduate of USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Certifications:
Must possess Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military aviation certifications/ratings in the C-130H.

Military Grade:
Open to O-2/1Lt through O-5/Lt Col. Candidates must possess AFSC 11M, C-130 Mobility Pilot.

Specialized Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of experience in aviation programs (military or civilian) and at least 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft. Must demonstrate expertise in mission planning, unit safety programs, and federal airspace operations.
Conditions of Employment:

Must be a current member of the Air Force, Air Force Reserve, or Air National Guard, or be eligible and willing to join the Wyoming Air National Guard prior to appointment.

Must successfully obtain and maintain the required security clearance.

Must maintain medical standards equivalent to USAF military pilots.

May be subject to a two-year trial period.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays; travel via military or commercial air may be required.
