Airplane Pilot (C-130) – Wyoming Air National Guard
Position Summary:
The Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot for a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position within the 153d Operations Support Squadron. This role is responsible for piloting C-130 aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions and providing essential administrative support for the Air Operations program.
Key Responsibilities:

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft using precision instrument flight techniques.

Execute comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route determination, fuel requirements, and flight plan filing.

Conduct preflight inspections, including weight and balance verification, maintenance checks, and crew/passenger briefings.

Operate aircraft safely while adhering to flight manual parameters and coordinating with ground units and controlling agencies.

Manage post-flight activities, including logbook maintenance, flight report submission, and coordination with maintenance personnel.

Serve as the Air Commander’s representative in the capacity of Supervisor of Flying (SOF), ensuring efficient and safe mission accomplishment.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Military Affiliation:
Must be or be willing to become a military member of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Eligible applicants include current Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard members.

Educational Requirements:
An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is mandatory.

Aviation Certifications:
Must possess Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military aviation certifications/ratings in the C-130H.

Specialized Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of experience in military or civilian aviation programs, including 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft. This includes demonstrated proficiency in mission planning, safety program management, and operational risk management.

Military Grade:
Must hold a compatible military grade of O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col and possess AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot).

Medical Standards:
Must maintain current medical standards required for USAF military pilots.

Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for access to classified information.

Documentation:
Applicants must submit a vMPF Rip, DVR, or CDB with their resume.
Conditions of Employment:

Successful completion of a two-year trial period may be required.

Subject to a federal background investigation.

Position requires physical presence; work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:30 pm, with potential for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Travel via military or commercial air may be required.

Acceptance of this position terminates certain military incentives, including Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).
