Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Airplane Pilot (Accelerated Hire) is to operate unit-equipped (UE) aircraft while performing administrative duties in support of the Air Operations program. This position requires active membership in the California National Guard.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot unit-equipped (UE) aircraft.

Perform administrative tasks to support the Air Operations program.

Conduct mission planning, preparation, and crew briefings.

Review and analyze mission tasking, intelligence, and meteorological data.

Perform aircraft preflight inspections, equipment assessments, and loading procedures.

Supervise navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue, and reconnaissance operations.

Develop operational plans and policies while advising commanders.

Ensure compliance with safety programs, flying directives, and mission tactics.
Qualifications and Requirements
General Requirements

Must be a member of the California National Guard; must wear the military uniform and adhere to grooming standards.

Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade (O-1 through O-6), and job assignment.

Must maintain an appropriate level of security clearance.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
Professional Qualifications

Possess an FAA certification from an accredited civilian program or an aviation certification from an accredited military aviation school.

Minimum of one year of on-the-job experience in the grade or comparable military rank immediately below the next higher level.

Minimum of 36 months of specialized experience in operating specific main-frame military aircraft.

Demonstrated expertise in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, and Department of Defense safety regulations.
