Job Title: Airplane Pilot (C-130)
Position Overview:
The Wyoming Air National Guard (153d Operations Support Squadron) is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot for a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. This role is responsible for piloting C-130 aircraft and providing essential administrative support to the Air Operations program. Candidates must maintain active military affiliation with the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Core Responsibilities

Operate advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions using precision instrument flight techniques.

Execute comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route determination, fuel requirements, and pre-flight inspections.

Ensure the safety of crew and passengers through thorough briefings and adherence to established flight manuals and emergency procedures.

Manage post-flight documentation, including log maintenance, flight reporting, and coordination with maintenance personnel regarding service conditions.

Serve as the Supervisor of Flying (SOF) on behalf of the Air Commander, ensuring safe and efficient unit mission accomplishment.
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.

Flight Training:
Graduation from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Certification:
Possession of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates or appropriate military aviation certifications.

Specialized Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of experience in aviation programs (military or civilian) and at least 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft. This includes demonstrated competency in mission planning, unit safety programs, and operational risk management.

Military Compatibility:
Must possess AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot). Candidates must be in or eligible for military grades O-2/1Lt through O-5/Lt Col.

Licensing:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Conditions of Employment

Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for access to classified information.

Must maintain medical standards required for USAF military pilots.

Must be available for travel by air as required by mission parameters.

Position may require work outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Successful completion of a two-year trial period may be required.

Employment is contingent upon a successful federal background investigation.

Acceptance of this position may terminate specific military incentives, including Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.
