Position Summary
The Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot for the 153d Operations Support Squadron. This role involves piloting the C-130 aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions, performing critical air operations administrative tasks, and serving as a representative for the Air Commander when acting as the Supervisor of Flying (SOF).
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft using precision instrument flight techniques.

Conduct comprehensive pre-flight planning, including weather analysis, route mapping, fuel requirement calculations, and flight plan filing.

Perform pre-flight inspections, ensuring proper aircraft loading, weight distribution, and crew briefings.

Execute flight operations while maintaining strict adherence to safety parameters, communicating with ground control, and managing emergency procedures as required.

Complete post-flight activities, including log maintenance, reporting, and coordination with maintenance personnel.

Ensure safe and efficient mission accomplishment through operational oversight.
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.

Aviation Certification:
Graduation from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT); possession of Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications.

Military Rating:
Must possess AFSC 11M, C-130 Mobility Pilot rating.

Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of working experience in aviation programs (military or civilian) and 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft.

Medical/Physical:
Ability to maintain standard USAF military pilot medical requirements and possess a valid driver’s license.

Military Grade:
Must hold or be eligible for a military grade between O-2/1Lt and O-5/Lt Col.
Conditions of Employment

This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician position; military affiliation with the Wyoming Air National Guard is required prior to appointment.

Open to current active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and members of other states' Air National Guard units.

Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for access to classified information.

May be required to travel via military or commercial air and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Subject to a background investigation and potential two-year trial period.

Acceptance of this position will result in the termination of military enlistment, retention, or student loan repayment bonuses, as well as the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).
