Job Summary
The Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot (Position Description PDD0253P02) for the 153d Operations Support Squadron. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. The primary objective is to pilot C-130 aircraft and provide administrative support for the Air Operations program.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions, utilizing precision instrument flight techniques and air navigational aids.

Conduct comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route determination, fuel requirements, weight distribution, and crew briefings.

Ensure safe aircraft operation by adhering to flight manuals, coordinating with ground control, monitoring performance, and executing emergency procedures when necessary.

Complete post-flight requirements, including log maintenance, flight reporting, and aircraft service coordination.

Serve as the Air Commander’s representative when performing Supervisor of Flying (SOF) duties to ensure mission efficiency and safety.
Requirements and Conditions of Employment

Military Affiliation:
Must be a member of or willing to join the Wyoming Air National Guard. Open to current Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard members.

Education:
Mandatory undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.

Certifications:
Must hold FAA pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications, along with military ratings in the C-130H.

Training:
Completion of USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT) is required.

Military Assignment:
Must possess AFSC 11M, C-130 Mobility Pilot.

Clearance/Medical:
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance and meet USAF medical standards for military pilots.

Documentation:
Applicants must provide detailed dates (MM/YYYY) and hours worked per week regarding specialized experience. Submission of vMPF Rip, DVR, or CDB with resume is required.

Conditions:
May be subject to a two-year trial period, background investigation, and non-traditional work hours (evenings, weekends, holidays). Travel via military or commercial air may be required.
Specialized Experience (GS-13)
Applicants must possess at least 24 months of experience in military or civilian aviation, specifically in piloting or instructing C-130 aircraft. Demonstrated proficiency is required in the following areas:

Strategic planning, policy development, and advising commanders on operations, mobilizations, and deployments.

Oversight of unit safety programs, accident reporting, and application of Operational Risk Management.

Flight mission planning, intelligence briefing, and aircraft pre-flight assessment.

Management of aviation duties within FAA-controlled airspace, including emergency actions and mission scheduling.

Military Grade:
O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col (Applicants outside this range will not be considered).

Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:30 pm.
