Job Title: Airplane Pilot (C-130)
Position Overview:
The Wyoming Air National Guard (153d Operations Support Squadron) is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot for a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. This role serves a dual purpose: conducting advanced C-130 flight operations and performing administrative support for the Air Operations program. This position requires active military affiliation with the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Key Responsibilities

Piloting advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions using precision instrument flight techniques.

Conducting comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, navigation, fuel requirements, and aircraft weight/balance distribution.

Performing pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures to ensure safety and mission readiness.

Coordinating with ground units and controlling activities to ensure mission success.

Serving as the Air Commander’s representative when performing duties as Supervisor of Flying (SOF).

Maintaining accurate flight logs, reports, and coordinating service conditions with maintenance personnel.
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is mandatory.

Training:
Graduation from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of specialized experience in aviation programs and at least 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft.

Certifications:
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certificates OR appropriate military aviation certifications/ratings in the C-130H.

Military Status:
Must possess AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot). Candidates must be willing and eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard prior to appointment.

Medical:
Must maintain standard medical criteria required for USAF military pilots.

Licensing:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Security Clearance:
Work requires access to classified information; the ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance is required.

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday–Friday (7:00 am – 4:30 pm). Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Travel:
May require travel via military or commercial air for conferences and meetings.

Trial Period:
May be subject to a two-year trial period.

Background Check:
Federal employment suitability is determined by a formal background investigation.

Incentives:
Acceptance of this position may terminate certain military incentives, including SRIP and TRICARE Reserve Select. Relocation costs are not authorized.
Areas of Consideration
This position is open to current active-duty Air Force members, Air Force Reserves, and personnel from other states' Air National Guard units, provided they meet the requirements to transfer to the Wyoming Air National Guard. Internal Wyoming ANG technicians are also eligible to apply.
