Position Overview
The Wyoming Air National Guard, 153d Operations Support Squadron, is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot (Position Description PDD0253P02). This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. The primary mission of this role is to pilot the C-130 aircraft and provide essential administrative support to the Air Operations program.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions, utilizing precision instrument flight techniques.

Conduct comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route determination, fuel requirement calculations, and flight plan filing.

Perform pre-flight inspections, including weight and balance verification, maintenance status checks, and crew/passenger safety briefings.

Operate aircraft safely in accordance with flight manuals, coordinate with ground control, and execute emergency procedures when necessary.

Complete all post-flight administrative requirements, including log entries, flight reports, and maintenance coordination.

Serve as the Air Commander's representative in the capacity of Supervisor of Flying (SOF), ensuring mission efficiency and safety.
Required Qualifications
Education and Certification

Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.

Graduation from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Possession of Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications/ratings in the C-130H.
Specialized Experience
Candidates must possess at least 24 months of experience in aviation programs (military or civilian) and at least 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft, specifically demonstrating competencies in:

Developing flight policies, mission planning, and contingency operations.

Managing unit flying safety programs and applying Operational Risk Management.

Conducting crew briefings, aircraft inspections, and mission manning assessments.

Coordinating flight training activities within national airspace and directing emergency response actions.
Military Requirements

Must be a military member of the Wyoming Air National Guard (or willing to join prior to appointment).

Must possess AFSC 11M, C-130 Mobility Pilot.

Must maintain medical standards equivalent to USAF military pilots.

Eligible military grades: O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col.
Conditions of Employment

May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as operational needs dictate.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Subject to a background investigation for federal employment suitability.

Participation in direct deposit/electronic funds transfer is mandatory.

Acceptance of this position may result in the termination of military incentives, including SRIP and TRICARE Reserve Select.

Additional Information
This position is open to current active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and Air National Guard members. Applicants must submit a vMPF Rip, DVR, or CDB with their resume.
