Position Type: Air National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service
The 148 OSS FT is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot (GS-2181-13) to join the unit. This position requires active membership in the Minnesota Air National Guard and adherence to all military standards and regulations. The appointment is subject to a two-year trial period in accordance with EO 14284.
Experience: Must possess at least two years of working experience in civilian aviation, military aviation (active duty or reserve), or aviation support facilities. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in piloting fixed-wing, rotary, or remotely piloted aircraft.
Education: A mandatory undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is required. A graduate degree in a related field is considered an asset.
Certifications: Candidates must hold Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certifications from accredited civilian programs OR aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.
Training: Applicants must have graduated from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).
Military Membership: Applicants must be current members of the Minnesota Air National Guard or be eligible for immediate enlistment/appointment. A compatible military AFSC is required, and the selectee must be prepared to wear the military uniform.
Physical and Legal Standards: Pilots must maintain the same medical standards as USAF military pilots. Employment is subject to a federal background investigation to determine suitability, including criminal history, employment, and fiscal records. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must be registered with the Selective Service System.
This position is for military grades Officer 1st Lt/O2 through Lt Col/O5. No Permanent Change of Station (PCS) funding is available. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. The Minnesota National Guard is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
