Position Summary
The Wyoming Air National Guard is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot for the 153d Operations Support Squadron. The primary mission of this role is to pilot the C-130 aircraft and provide essential administrative support to the Air Operations program. This position requires active military affiliation with the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot advanced multi-engine military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions using precision instrument flight techniques.

Conduct comprehensive flight planning, including weather analysis, route determination, fuel requirements, and regulatory flight plan filing.

Perform pre-flight inspections, including weight and balance verification, maintenance status checks, and crew/passenger briefings.

Ensure safe aircraft operation by adhering to flight manuals, coordinating with ground control, and executing emergency procedures as necessary.

Execute post-flight duties, including log maintenance, reporting, and coordination with maintenance personnel.

Serve as the Air Commander’s representative in the capacity of Supervisor of Flying (SOF), ensuring mission efficiency and safety.
Mandatory Qualifications

Education:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university. A graduate degree is considered optimal.

Certification:
Must possess Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military aviation certifications/ratings in the C-130H.

Training:
Graduation from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Specialized Experience:
Minimum of 24 months of experience in aviation programs (civilian or military) and at least 24 months of experience piloting or instructing in C-130 aircraft. This must include experience in operational planning, safety program management, mission preparation, and airspace management.

Military Requirement:
Must possess AFSC 11M (C-130 Mobility Pilot).

Medical:
Must maintain medical standards required for USAF military pilots.

Licensing:
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Conditions of Employment

Must become a military member of the Wyoming Air National Guard prior to appointment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for access to classified information.

May be required to travel by military or commercial air.

Work schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Position is subject to a two-year trial period and federal background investigation.

Must be in a compatible military grade (O-2/1Lt to O-5/Lt Col).

Technicians are paid via Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).

Acceptance of this position may terminate certain military incentives, including SRIP and TRICARE Reserve Select.
