Position Summary
The 148 OSS FT is seeking a qualified Airplane Pilot to operate advanced, high-performance military aircraft on tactical and non-tactical missions. The incumbent will utilize precision instrument flight techniques, maintain thorough knowledge of aircraft systems under all flight conditions, and ensure the safety of crew and passengers. This role requires active membership in the Minnesota Air National Guard and the ability to serve in a compatible military position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Operate high-performance, single or multi-engine military aircraft across domestic and foreign routes in all weather conditions.

Conduct comprehensive pre-flight planning, including route analysis, fuel requirements, weight distribution, and required clearances.

Maintain operational safety by adhering to flight manuals, coordinating with ground control, and executing emergency procedures as necessary.

Perform post-flight duties, including documentation, logbook updates, and coordination with maintenance personnel.

Serve as the Air Commander’s representative when performing Supervisor of Flying (SOF) duties, ensuring mission efficiency and safety.

Rotate through functional areas including Training and Scheduling, Plans, and Safety programs, ensuring compliance with Air Force, ANG, and OSHA directives.
Requirements and Qualifications

Military Membership:
Must be or be eligible for immediate membership in the Minnesota Air National Guard. Must maintain a compatible Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) and wear the military uniform.

Education:
A mandatory undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is required. A graduate degree is preferred.

Aviation Certification:
Must hold certifications from accredited civilian aviation programs (FAA) or accredited military aviation schools.

Experience:
Minimum of two years of work experience in civilian or military aviation programs. Must have experience piloting fixed-wing, rotary, or remotely piloted aircraft.

Training:
Must have graduated from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).

Medical Standards:
Must maintain the same medical standards as USAF military pilots.

Suitability:
Candidates must pass a federal background investigation, including checks on criminal history, employment, and fiscal responsibility.

Registration:
Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered with the Selective Service.
Additional Information
This position is subject to a two-year trial period in accordance with EO 14284. No Permanent Change of Station (PCS) funding is available. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical where applicable.
