Prospective candidates are expected to meet stringent academic, licensing, and operational experience criteria to ensure the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and regulatory compliance.
Academic Qualifications
- Possession of a School Certificate with a minimum Grade B in both Mathematics and Physics, OR
- A Final Secondary Education Certificate with demonstrated proficiency in Mathematics and Physics, OR
- A relevant Degree in a Science-related field.
Licensing and Flight Experience
- A valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with a current Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME-IR), issued by ICAO or an equivalent authority recognized by the Mauritius Department of Civil Aviation.
- A minimum of 4000 total flight hours accumulated on EASA Part 25 certified aircraft.
- A current ATR Type Rating, demonstrating at least 1000 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on ATR aircraft or an equivalent type.
- A minimum of 500 flying hours on type as primary crew.
- Recent flight experience must include at least 150 hours on type within the last 12 months.
Medical and General Requirements
- Holding a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate. Candidates with medical restrictions should note that Air Mauritius reserves the right to decline acceptance of such certificates.
- A minimum age of 18 years at the time of application.
- A maximum age of 62 years at the closing date of the External Vacancy Notice (EVN).
- Possession of a valid passport.
- Provision of a valid Certificate of Character or Police Clearance Certificate from the country of residence.
- Demonstrated English Language Proficiency at ICAO Level 5 or higher.
- Candidates must continuously maintain valid licenses and medical certificates throughout the entire selection process.
- All applicants must fulfill the specific requirements set forth by local aviation authorities.
- Candidates are required to pass a technical examination administered by Air Mauritius.
