Chief Ground Instructor - Air India
The Chief Ground Instructor is responsible for ensuring the quality and curriculum of ground training at the Air India Flight Training Organization (FTO) and for the Air India Cadet Pilot Program, in accordance with Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Commercial Pilot License (CPL) requirements and airline standards. The Chief Ground Instructor oversees all ground instructors, standardization of ground training, and maintenance of training records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements for pilot ground training and examinations (DGCA, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), etc.).
- Supervises all ground instructors for pilot training, ensuring standardization of theoretical knowledge instruction for the Air India FTO and Cadet Pilot Program.
- Ensures instructor positions are filled appropriately, based on knowledge, skills, training, and experience.
- Exercises full functional and administrative control over pilot ground training curriculum, evaluation, scheduling, and record-keeping.
- Conducts Standardization Committee meetings to maintain training policies.
- Ensures the maintenance of all training aids, highlighting deficiencies in training standards to the Head of FTO and the Director of the Aviation Academy.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Ensures the preparation and updating of training documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and aircraft-specific circulars.
- Oversees the preparation of the Cadet Pilot Training Curriculum for pilot ground training, ensuring updates reflect the latest operating techniques, experience, instructions, and DGCA regulations.
