Caravan Captain (C208) - San Juan, Puerto Rico
An aviation company is seeking a full-time Caravan Captain (C208) to be based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Captain will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, ensuring the timely delivery of cargo, and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that cargo is loaded properly and ensures the timely delivery of cargo.
- Safely maneuvers the aircraft during all phases of flight, monitors all flight conditions including weather and cargo safety, and verifies go/no-go decisions.
- Verifies fuel requirements and related weather variables and ensures proper loading.
- Makes alternate destination decisions when the intended destination is unavailable.
- Maintains command in all situations as they arise due to unexpected circumstances during the flight.
- Ensures proper communication with stations, towers, flight controllers, and dispatchers during the flight.
- Files all reports required by the FAA and reports any unusual aircraft behavior or performance to dispatch or maintenance personnel.
- Properly records flight-hours in conjunction with Dispatch and adheres to FAA rest requirements and company directives.
- In coordination with others, maintains familiarity and knowledge of applicable changes in regulations and procedures concerning the safe operation of all company aircraft.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all Air Cargo Carrier policies, procedures, manuals, handbooks, and protocol.
- Serves as a positive, constructive, and communicative leader for the company and its customers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience Requirements:
- 1200 total flight hours.
- 500 hours cross country flight time.
- 100 hours night flight time.
- 75 hours instrument flight time.
- FCC restricted radiotelephone operator permit required.

Qualifications:
- Commercial Single-Engine and Instrument Rating.
- Valid U.S. Passport.
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident who has resided in the U.S. for 5 years.
- Must be able to verify previous employment dates for a 10-year period, with each past employer as per USPS postal route contact requirements if applicable.
Important Information:
To be considered for this position, candidates must be willing to work in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Training will be conducted in San Juan, Puerto Rico and lasts approximately 3-5 weeks. Following successful training, the candidate will serve as a full-time Captain within the Caravan fleet. As a Captain, responsibilities include flight preparation and completion, maintaining flight logs, and other duties as assigned by dispatch, the Chief Pilot, or the Director of Operations. This is a rewarding, fast-paced role.
