Second Officer
Air Arabia is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Second Officer to join its flight operations team. The Second Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, security, and efficiency of assigned flights, operating in strict adherence to the Air Arabia Operational Manual and relevant DAC regulations. This position involves assisting the Captain, monitoring flight progress and system performance, supporting crew members, managing documentation, and potentially taking control of the aircraft when required by established procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serving as a Second Officer, actively assisting the Captain in monitoring flight progress, the efficiency of operating systems, and the performance of cabin crew members.
- Demonstrating a high level of cooperation and employing a systematic approach for information exchange while adhering to task distribution.
- Operating flights in accordance with the detailed provisions of the Air Arabia Operations Manual and DAC regulations, consistently applying and monitoring procedures to ensure safe and smooth aircraft operation.
- Flying Air Arabia aircraft from destination to destination when required or instructed by the Captain, prioritising Safety, Efficiency, and Passenger comfort.
- Coordinating with the First Officer and Dispatch Team prior to each flight to ensure cabin crew members are well-prepared and informed regarding aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather, fuel calculations, weight, passenger numbers, and role distribution.
- Carrying out assigned checks inside and outside the cockpit, confirming taxiing and take-off with the Captain, and handling essential data input and documentation tasks for conducted flights, such as take-off data, fuel requirements, and the ATS flight plan.
- Regularly briefing the First Officer and Captain.
- Utilising approved systems and forms to record data, including log books, CFPs, and security searches, and verifying calculated data with assumed figures alongside the First Officer and Captain.
- Supervising aircraft fuelling at stations without qualified personnel, ensuring correct fuel type and proper distribution.
- Alerting the Captain to any irregularities or unfavourable variables that may affect safety, applying necessary actions as instructed, and assisting the crew on how to react in case of safety or security irregularities.
- Checking prescribed manuals, charts, maps, and forms, ensuring the Air Arabia Operations Manual is distributed, accounted for, maintained, updated, and complied with by Flight Crew for current and subsequent flights. Assisting the First Officer/Captain in securing the aircraft when necessary until return to home base.
- Undertaking additional ground-based tasks, such as Safety or Security Officer roles, as directed by the Head of Flight Operations in accordance with Part A of the Air Arabia Operations Manual.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements from regulatory bodies such as Civil Aviation, DAC, and Airbus Company, and other relevant bodies related to flights and Flight Crew. Attending recurrent and competency-based training as scheduled by the Training Department.
- Assisting the Captain in completing necessary records and reports, including the journey log, aircraft flight log, safety reports, and discretion reports. Depositing flight envelopes in the designated secure location post-flight when instructed by the First Officer.
Qualifications:
- An appropriate License (MPL, CPL) with frozen ATPL is required.
- Must successfully pass the technical and psychometric assessment for First Officer in accordance with Air Arabia/DAC standards.
- Must pass the Aviation Class one Medical carried for First Officers as per DAC regulation.
- Training in safety and emergency response is essential; a formal qualification is advantageous.
- Basic training in Airport and security procedures and regulations is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using Aircraft systems is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, and Web Search is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, including technical report writing and presentations.
- Good command of the English language is essential; knowledge of Arabic and French is advantageous.
- Applicants must hold Moroccan nationality.
Experience & Skills:
- Possesses acceptable industry knowledge in aircraft systems and operating procedures.
- Capable of handling delegated roles, including security or safety-related duties, as required by Air Arabia and DAC regulations.
- Proficient in applying policies, procedures, and manuals according to approved standards and regulations.

- Capable of understanding QA, Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices relevant to Flight Operations.
