Pilot Training Instructor
Fly Jinnah is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pilot Training Instructor to conduct and deliver pilot training programs and proficiency checks. The instructor will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the professional skills of pilots, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and efficiency in all flight operations. This individual will train and guide pilots in accordance with the Fly Jinnah Operational Manual and PCAA regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs pilot training as required by Fly Jinnah, adhering to international standards to ensure safe and efficient Airbus aircraft operations. Conducts airfield and airport familiarization.
- Delivers effective and timely pilot training programs to meet operational needs and performance standards outlined in the Operational Manual, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and PCAA regulations.
- Conducts theoretical and practical/technical training, including initial and recurrent training, aircraft systems and layout, and crew resource management.
- Collaborates with various teams to identify training gaps and provide recommendations for flight crew development. Monitors trainee progress and generates reports for management.
- Provides continuous guidance and support to pilots through courses and one-on-one coaching, inspiring them to achieve optimal results. Offers program reports and suggests improvements.
- Prepares First and Second Officers to meet required competencies for operational readiness. Maintains records of necessary certificates and licenses, tracking renewal dates.
- Informs Training Examiners of any SOP or safety breaches. Identifies safety risks according to Fly Jinnah's risk assessment process and monitors mitigation steps. Educates pilots to enhance safety awareness.
- Communicates Flight Operations Manual content during training courses, ensuring adherence to regulations and procedures set by the PCAA, IOSA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Provides pilots with essential notices regarding training, licensing, and qualifications, ensuring full comprehension.
- Supports the training team during internal/external audits, ensuring document availability, updates, and compliance with approved standards. Escalates conduct matters to supervisors for resolution.
- Executes training schedules and course material, upholding the highest level of training quality and standardization. Contributes to the creation and updating of question databanks for pilot selection and evaluation exams. Ensures safety and readiness of facilities, equipment, and tests.
- Supports new employees during Induction Programs on the LMS and briefing sessions, offering guidance and answering content-related inquiries.
- Supports other hubs in conducting training programs and delivers training courses to third parties as needed.
- Operates as a pilot when required by scheduling and conducts observational flights as a checker on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid ATPL (Aircraft Transportation License).
- Appropriate aircraft type rating certificates (Airbus 320, 321) are essential.
- Must successfully complete the technical/psychometric assessment for pilots as per Fly Jinnah/PCAA standards.
- Must pass the Medical Fitness check-up for pilots as per Fly Jinnah/PCAA standards.
- Basic Airport security procedures and regulations training is mandatory.
- Training in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Response is essential, with formal qualification being a plus.
- Training certificates such as "Train the Trainer," "NLP," or "Instructive Training" are advantageous.
- Crew Resource Management Training is an advantage.
- Expertise in aircraft systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, and web search are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and presentation abilities, are necessary.
- Must be fluent in English.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a pilot for a comparable airline; experience with a low-cost airline is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 1500 hours completed as a Training Instructor with an airline company, delivering training to pilots on the Airbus 320.
- Exposure to Civil Aviation Authorities and regulatory bodies, preferably PCAA; familiarity with PCAA and IOSA regulations related to Flight Operations and pilot licensing.
- Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools for technical subjects; must have conducted training on First Aid and Airline Safety.
- Experience in designing, developing, and delivering training courses according to standards and business needs.
- Capable of monitoring performance against procedures, manuals, standards, and regulations.
- Cost-oriented with effective persuasive, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Composed, self-confident, and focused, with the ability to handle emergencies and threats efficiently.
