Aviation Theoretical Knowledge Instructor
This individual is responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction across various aviation-related subjects. The instructor ensures students acquire the necessary knowledge for licensing examinations and safe flight operations, providing them with a solid theoretical foundation in aviation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivers engaging lectures on theoretical subjects, adhering to the highest professional standards.
- Ensures training programs align with the approved curriculum and academy manuals.
- Maintains and updates training materials, lesson plans, and syllabi as directed.
- Stays abreast of the latest aviation regulations and adapts teaching methods accordingly.
- Completes all tasks within the established timeframes.
- Collaborates with the line manager to optimize the use of training aids and maintain course consistency.
- Mentors and supports students to ensure a clear understanding of course content.
- Monitors student progress, identifies areas for improvement, and provides constructive feedback.
- Maintains accurate attendance records for all classes.
- Contributes to curriculum development and recommends necessary corrective training.
- Ensures the confidentiality and security of all examination materials.
- Serves as a role model for professionalism and enforces high standards of student discipline.
- Keeps all required personal approvals and documentation current.
- Maintains a clean, tidy, and safe learning environment, reporting any maintenance issues.
- Reports any safety-related incidents to the appropriate manager.
- Promotes the safety policy and demonstrates continuous commitment to it.
- Fosters a positive and professional learning environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in aviation, education, or a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a course in instructional techniques; Train the Trainer certification is required.
- Demonstrated experience in providing theoretical knowledge instruction with an appropriate background in the subject.
- Previous experience instructing ATPL theory at a GCAA-approved pilot training organization is preferred.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of three years experience as an instructor with similar responsibilities.
- Practical background in aviation within relevant training areas.
- In-depth understanding of the aviation industry.
- Strong knowledge of GCAA safety policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
