Cabin Crew Opportunity - Recruitment Drive in Colombo, Sri Lanka

Job Purpose:
The Cabin Crew member serves as a vital ambassador, dedicated to fostering customer loyalty and consistently promoting a positive corporate image. This role is centred on enhancing the overall passenger experience by providing exceptional customer service while rigorously ensuring their safety and comfort throughout all flight phases. The Cabin Crew member is expected to be readily available, physically fit, and operate in accordance with established productivity measures, company policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct:
- Ensures punctuality, maintains professional grooming standards, verifies fitness, and confirms readiness and legality for all assigned flights.
- Actively participates in pre-flight briefings to stay informed on flight specifics, role assignments, targets, security protocols, and boarding procedures.
Safety Measures:
- Provides clear instructions to passengers on all necessary safety procedures, prioritizing their safety and comfort at all times.
- Identifies and reports potential safety and security risks, collaborating with the Cabin Supervisor to implement corrective actions aligned with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Administers first aid to passengers as required.
- Promptly informs the Cabin Supervisor, Flight Crew, and Captain of any irregularities or malfunctions.
Customer Service:
- Welcomes passengers warmly and assists with boarding formalities.
- Accurately records necessary flight data in the aircraft log book, adhering to established procedures.
- Consistently delivers excellent customer service by addressing passenger pre-bookings, requests, and individual needs.
- Identifies and provides support to passengers experiencing stress or difficulties, following guidance outlined in the Operations Manual and relevant instructions.
- Actively contributes to maximizing on-board revenue and the "Charity Cloud" program by effectively promoting on-board offerings, products, and charity initiatives, thereby achieving individual and team sales targets.
- Ensures proper and secure handling of all cash and credit card payments from individual sales and donations.
Crosschecking and Reports:
- Conducts comprehensive pre-flight checks to verify the availability of sufficient supplies, emergency equipment, catering provisions, and other specified equipment before departure. Reports any deficiencies to the Cabin Supervisor and/or Captain as appropriate.
- Assists in ensuring the aircraft cabin is thoroughly cleaned during transit stops and confirms adequate re-catering and duty-free products are stocked before subsequent flights.
- Manages the orderly and complete handover or takeover of the cabin with catering, cleaning, and maintenance personnel.
- Participates in post-flight briefings and completes assessment reports according to established policies and procedures, providing objective evaluations of the Cabin Supervisor and reporting any flight-related problems or discrepancies.
- Ensures the proper closing and sealing of duty-free containers.
- Accounts for passenger conduct to the Cabin Supervisor.
- Assumes the duties of 'Cabin Supervisor' when specifically designated by the Captain.
- Maintains up-to-date professional and safety knowledge by actively participating in recurrent training, emergency procedures training, educational workshops, and ensuring the currency of their cabin crew license.
- Contributes effectively to team performance by achieving related outcomes and meeting allocated sales targets and objectives.
Important Requirements:
- Age: Between 20 and 33 years.
- Minimum Height: 160 cm (Female), 170 cm (Male).
- Weight: Must be in proportion to age and height.
- Clear skin with no visible marks or tattoos while wearing the cabin crew uniform.
- Medically and physically fit to perform all Cabin Crew duties.
- Ability to swim with the aid of a flotation device.
Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages):
- A Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate is required. A diploma in Travel/Tourism is advantageous.
- Training in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Procedures is considered an added value.
- Must be fit to fly, possess good general health, and have no serious medical conditions or chronic diseases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.
- Language: Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
Work Experience:
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience as Cabin Crew or in a customer service role within the Airlines, Aviation, or Hospitality Industries is considered an asset.
- Possession of an active cabin crew license is an advantage.
- Capability to work effectively in a shift pattern and handle extended working hours is necessary.
- Demonstrates high flexibility and adaptability to frequent changes and demanding schedules.
- Proven ability to contribute to team efforts and successfully deliver against established policies, procedures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
