Aviation Pilot Job Description
Job Purpose
The Pilot is responsible for conducting assigned flights in strict accordance with the Airline Operational Manual and civil aviation authority regulations. The incumbent ensures the ultimate safety, security, and efficiency of all flight operations, provides guidance to the flight and cabin crew, manages emergencies and ad-hoc scenarios, and maintains a positive corporate image through successful flight performance.
Key Responsibilities

Operate aircraft in accordance with approved schedules and flight plans, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.

Monitor and maintain adherence to the Airline’s Operations Manual and regulatory requirements for all flight operations.

Ensure timely attendance, proper grooming, and fitness of self and flight crew; conduct thorough pre-flight briefings.

Liaise with co-pilots and the dispatch team to provide essential flight information, including technical status, weather, route preferences, and fuel management.

Maximize fuel efficiency during flight operations within established safety constraints.

Oversee and verify all safety, security, fuel, and transit checks, taking decisive action in the event of irregularities.

Collaborate with Maintenance Engineers, MCC, and MROs to confirm aircraft airworthiness and address technical defects promptly.

Maintain accurate flight documentation, including technical logbooks, journey books, and boarding reports.

Ensure the Airline Operations Manual is current and understood by the flight crew.

Stay updated on legal and regulatory requirements from civil aviation authorities and manufacturers.

Undertake additional ground-based responsibilities, such as Safety or Security Officer roles, as directed.
Qualifications

Valid ATPL License is mandatory.

Successful completion of technical/psychometric assessments and medical fitness checks as required by the airline and aviation authorities.

Proficiency in aircraft systems and Microsoft Office.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and presentation abilities.

High proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is considered an asset.

Formal training in safety and emergency response is essential; qualifications in Crew Resource Management, basic airport security, and IATA principles are preferred.
Work Experience

Minimum of 4,000 flying hours required; Airbus 320 experience is preferred.

Prior experience with a low-cost airline is highly desirable.

Exposure to QA, safety, security, and audit procedures related to flight operations.

Proven capability to handle heavy workloads, ad-hoc scheduling, and high-pressure emergency scenarios.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a cost-oriented approach.

Demonstrated ability to deliver results against business strategy and KPIs while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
