Key Responsibilities
The Aerial Firefighting Tanker Pilot in Command will be entrusted with:
- Leading aerial firefighting missions, operating tanker aircraft with precision and expertise.
- Executing accurate aerial drops of fire retardant over designated areas.
- Ensuring strict adherence to all aviation regulations, company operational procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintaining a high level of situational awareness, exercising sound judgment, and making critical decisions under pressure.
- Collaborating effectively with ground support teams, air traffic control, and other aerial assets during complex firefighting operations.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections, comprehensive flight planning, and precise post-flight duties in accordance with established company standards.
Essential Qualifications
Prospective candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Possess an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate or a Commercial Certificate with Instrument Rating (Multiengine Land).
- Hold a current First or Second-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- A minimum of 4,000 hours Total Flight Time.
- A minimum of 2,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) in airplanes.
- A minimum of 200 hours Multiengine Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
Preferred Qualifications
- A DC-9 type rating is highly desirable.
